Mr Michael Guy

Michael is a clinical and coaching psychologist with over 20 years of professional experience. His background includes training in psychology, psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) and mindfulness.

Michael has expertise in helping with issues associated with trauma, life adjustment problems, depressed mood, anxiety, personality issues, drug and alcohol abuse / dependency, and grief. He works by using the Schema Therapy model to take ideas from different psychotherapy schools such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Gestalt to give you strategies to change the feelings, thoughts and behavior that you don’t like.

He is most interested in finding patterns in client’s lives, particularly sabotaging behaviours. He looks to confront these while being supportive and caring and working with the client to change destructive patterns so that potential can be realised and life improved.
